Lori Weitzner Assemblage

Assemblage: an artistic process; a collection of people or things;
a gathering; compositions, putting together found objects.
My intention is to bring together that which inspires me and share with colleagues and friends.

Autumn in Santa Fe

I was honored to participate in a conference hosted by the Museum of New Mexico Foundation in Santa Fe where the takeaway was how museums and global cultures inform trends in fashion and interiors -- especially this museum!

The archives are incredible; the museum community warm and gracious; a hidden jewel set in one of the oldest towns in America.

"Honoring Klee"

Designers are constantly on the hunt for what's new and next. Sometimes, however, I love to revisit some of my favorite artists of the past. I always return to the paintings of Paul Klee (1879-1940). The sublime colors of Klee's work are an endless source of inspiration to me.

"Colour possesses me. It will always possess me. That is the meaning of this happy hour: colour and I are one. I am a painter." - Paul Klee

One of my favorite little flower shops just a few blocks from my studio - Blooming Affairs.
I never realized how appealing cacti can be!

I was having a tough day today and needed an infusion of pure inspiration. So I took myself to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the exhibition China, Through the Looking Glass. I must say, it rates as one of my top three most favorite exhibitions of all time. Really. Absolutely exquisite. Here are some highlights but it is worth a trip to New York to see in person!

An amazing trip to Indonesia landed me at the headquarters of
John Hardy Jewelry in Badung, Bali. An amazing sanctuary employing over
 650 artisans;  every single piece made by hand.
