Lori Weitzner Assemblage

Assemblage: an artistic process; a collection of people or things;
a gathering; compositions, putting together found objects.
My intention is to bring together that which inspires me and share with colleagues and friends.

What's on your tree????

Growing up Jewish, all I ever wanted was a tree to decorate. Now that our family celebrates both Chanukah and Christmas, I got my wish!

Wishing you all peace and joy

Helping, donating, sharing, supporting. My post this week is not about design, but about generosity of spirit. As devastating as Hurricane Sandy has been for so many, there have been countless acts of kindness that too often go unnoticed.

Well, I have to get something about design in - so here I am with one of my favorite designers Barry Dixon in Scottsdale, where he is signing his new book for me. This was the day before the storm when all was so calm and easy!

The Lori Weitzner Design Studio went on a field trip this week to Storm King, an impressive sculpture park in upstate NY. The foggy day lent a mystery and magic to the pieces as we restored ourselves with this special meditative day.

Last night I went to my friend Ralph Pucci's celebration of 25 years creating amazing mannequins. Fashion's Night Out at Joe Fresh's flagship store on 5th Avenue exhibited this wonderful and fun retrospective.

..And speaking of fashion, here is a photo of my favorite menswear designer Jhane Barnes and me at an event a few weeks ago. Her love for textiles is infused in all her timeless creations.

This week, a more personal post! Spending the last weeks at the London Olympics with my family...

Rooting for Team GB!

I had never watched handball before - so much fun!

Wildflowers everywhere around the Olympic Park

My family in front of the main stadium...you'd think they would at least root for the USA as well!

After all the fish and chips, how nice to see an olive cart!
