Lori Weitzner Assemblage

Assemblage: an artistic process; a collection of people or things;
a gathering; compositions, putting together found objects.
My intention is to bring together that which inspires me and share with colleagues and friends.

While I was in Chicago a few weeks ago, I visited one of my favorite
interior designers, Suzanne Lovell www.suzannelovellinc.com.

It is not often that a design studio showcases so many incredible pieces of art--simply there for all to enjoy. A feast for the eye and soul. Her discerning eye for interior design clearly spans into art collecting as well!

How wonderful to reconnect with old friends. Pamela Viola was a well known film producer that left it all to pursue her passion for photography. Take a look at some of her pieces spanning 30 years...

I had one free and glorious day while in Japan a few weeks ago. My friend took me to Fushimi Inari-taisha in Kyoto. The higher up we walked, the more sacred it felt. I felt. How remarkable that such an ancient shrine can inspire such tranquility and quietude.

I never feel lonely if I've got a book - they're like old friends. Even if you're not reading them over and over again, you know they are there. And they're part of your history. They sort of tell a story about your journey through life.

Here are some of my personal favorites...

I have found myself complaining a lot
lately about the frigid weather,
and so decided it would be appropriate to instead,
CELEBRATE the stark beauty it can also bring.
Here are some images I was inspired by.
